K1/K2 Weekly Activities: April 6-9
Happy Easter to all of our families and students! While we are feeling many emotions during these times, we sincerely hope that you can all find the joy of the resurrection of Christ and in doing so, feel the hope for better days ahead.
As always these activities are optional and dependant upon interest, time, materials and energy. Take care of yourselves and your families.
Religion: Holy Week/ Easter Videos/Read-alouds:

Math: Create your own counting board game with the numbers 1-20 using an empty cereal box/shoebox or other materials you have at home.
Language: Practise Write your word wall words on index cards or paper and practise reading your word wall words or rhyming words by reading each word as you climb the stairs. Students can also practise identifying alphabet letters!

Read the book, “How to Catch the Easter Bunny” https://youtu.be/JC-hZk9jbc4 and discuss with your family different ways that you can catch the easter bunny. As an extension: Draw your own Easter Bunny trap on paper and label the materials you will need. You can also explain orally how your Easter Bunny trap works to your parents or siblings!
French: This is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy some Spring weather as your child looks for familiar items in your neighbourhood to learn some new French vocabulary. You may play it as a Bingo game or simply as a scavenger hunt. “Joyeuse Printemps les amis!”

Physical Education: Try a Go Noodle video on YouTube.
STEAM:
Easter Art:
Create a cross painting using tape and coloured paint to prepare for Easter. Place tape in the form of a cross (lower case t shape) on white paper and then paint around and over it. Once dry take the tape off to see the cross showing.
OR
Create your own Easter Bunny using toilet paper rolls and other materials you have around your home.
Outdoor Learning:Go on a nature walk with your family. While you are on your nature walk check to see if you discover any footprints. Which animal do you think each footprint could be from?
